Riderwood Executive Team

Meet the individuals who manage the day-to-day operations here at Riderwood.

Gary Hibbs, Executive Director

Gary Hibbs joined the Erickson Living family of communities in 1995 after serving as administrator of Wellington Manor, a long-term care facility in Clinton, Maryland. He also practiced law with the Senior Citizen Law Project in Prince George's County, Maryland. Prior to joining the Riderwood executive team, Gary served as regional executive director for eight Erickson Living communities in Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Kansas. Previously, he served as the executive director of Oak Crest in Parkville, Maryland, and Cedar Crest in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. He also served as administrator of Charlestown’s assisted living facility, formerly known as Frederick House. Gary holds M.S.W. and J.D. degrees from the University of Maryland at Baltimore, is a certified L.G.S.W. and a member of the Maryland Bar. He received his nursing home administrator’s license while working with Global Health Management in Maryland, and is also licensed in the state of Michigan as a long-term care administrator. 

Dee Dee Gray-Weaver, Associate Executive Director

Dee Dee joined Riderwood in October 2017. An operational executive with experience leading and developing large teams, she received her M.B.A. from American University in Washington, D.C. and holds a B. A. degree in psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park.  Prior to joining the Riderwood team, Dee Dee served as senior director for a global hospitality company in Rockville, MD.

Mickey Thaxton, Associate Executive Director

Before joining the Riderwood team in August, 2106, Mickey spent 22 years in the Navy as a surface warfare officer. The last ten years of his service were spent at the U.S. Naval Academy where he taught history, ethics, and leadership; served as the associate chair of the history department; and was the associate dean for the school of the humanities. Mickey has also worked as a management consultant with a focus in organizational and leadership development. He holds a B.S. in political science from the U.S. Naval Academy and a M.A. in history from Villanova University.

Andrew Kundrat, M.D., Medical Director

Dr. Kundrat joined the executive leadership team as medical director in November 2015. With over 34 years of internal medicine and geriatric experience, he has served with the Erickson Health Medical Group as a staff physician at Riderwood since 2008. Dr. Kundrat earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and his M.D. degree from the Drexel University College of Medicine. He completed his internship at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond and his residency in internal medicine at the Eastern Virginia School of Medicine in Norfolk. Dr. Kundrat is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Directors Association.

Lori Lusby Hamilton, Administrator of Continuing Care

Lori joined the team at Riderwood in November of 2011 as the assistant administrator of Arbor Ridge and then in April of 2012, she became the administrator. Lori has spent over 30 years in the health care industry. Prior to November 2011, her last position held was as administrator for a 180-bed comprehensive care facility located in Southern Maryland. Lori is currently licensed as a nursing home administrator and preceptor in the State of Maryland and holds a bachelor of science degree from Frostburg State University.

Mark Embley, Director of Finance

Mark joined the Riderwood team as the assistant director of finance in the fall of 2015 and was promoted to director of finance in the summer of 2016. Before joining Erickson Living, Mark held various finance and accounting positions for CCRCs. He earned a bachelor of sicence degree in mathematics and a master's degree in business management from the University of Maryland, College Park. Mark is the tenth of fourteen siblings, is married to his best friend, and loves being the father of three children.

George Mishraky, Director of Sales

George began his tenure at Riderwood in March of 2008 soon after graduating from Towson University with a B.A. in business management. During his early years in the Riderwood sales office he continued his education and earned his M.B.A. from the University of Baltimore. Over the following years, George was promoted to sales manager in 2013, to associate sales director in 2017, and to director of sales in 2018.

Beverly Jackson, Director of Human Resources

Prior to joining Riderwood, Beverly served as the executive director, human resources at Adventist HealthCare Washington Adventist Hospital. Beverly’s more than 25 years of human resources experience includes HR management roles at Adventist HealthCare Home Care Services and Energy Solutions, the largest nuclear waste processing company in the United States. Beverly holds a B.S. in human resources and an M.S. in organizational performance from Bellevue University.

Jeff Kimbell, Director of Dining Services

Jeff brings more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry to this leadership position. He has served the past nine years as a regional director of dining, supporting sister communities in Maryland, Virginia, Florida, Texas, and Colorado. Prior to his employment with Erickson Living, he worked for the Walt Disney Company as the general manager. As director of dining services for Riderwood, he will oversee the operation of six restaurants in the independent living neighborhoods and 12 dining rooms in the continuing care health services neighborhood. Jeff holds a food and beverage certificate of specialization, a B.A. in business administration from Notre Dame of Maryland University, and an M.B.A from Amberton University in Garland, Texas.

Lance Severance, Director of General Services

Lance joined Riderwood in July, 2016 as the general services director. He has carried similar titles and responsibilities in acute care, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and long-term health care facilities in the Greater Washington D.C. metropolitan area for over 25 years. Before joining Erickson Living, Lance was the director of plant operations for The Washington Home & Community Hospices. Lance has carried a number of discipline-specific licenses, memberships, and certifications in health care engineering, safety, and security. Lance is a Marine, honorably discharged, having served active duty from 1987 to 1995.

Laura McCormick, Practice Administrator

Laura started her career with Erickson Living in 1998 as a communications specialist at Oak Crest Village. In 2003, she was promoted to medical office assistant in the independent living medical center. She advanced herself within the medical center as the medical office team leader in 2008 and then in 2015 Laura elevated her position to the medical office coordinator. In 2016, Laura was promoted and joined Riderwood's executive team and currently works at the medical center as the practice administrator. Laura attended school in Baltimore County and has over 16 years of managerial experience.
