Choosing Independent Living vs. Continuing Care Health Services

There are so many options you need to consider when deciding which Catonsville senior living community to choose. Perhaps the most important is knowing whether you’re interested in living independently, or if you need a higher level of care like assisted living. No matter what retirement lifestyle you desire, Charlestown has you covered.

Vibrant Independent Living

Charlestown offers you so many exciting benefits that you just can’t find in a house, while still making it easy to enjoy the independent lifestyle you’re used to.  With amenities like the fitness center and art studios—not to mention clubs like ballroom dancing and woodworking—you can stay active in mind, body, and spirit.

Without the hassles of house maintenance and repairs, you’re free to pursue your interests, meet new people, and spend more time with family and friends. In fact, many Catonsville residents say that life here is more active and independent than living alone in a house.

You’ll also have access to the on-site medical center, as well as home care through certified home health or a private duty nurse. Should you ever require a higher level of care, you can simply transition to the continuing care health services neighborhood.

If something happens to me and I no longer can live independently...there’s a place right across the campus where I can go for whatever needs that I have.

Continuing Care Health Services Options

Our continuing care health services neighborhood offers assisted living, memory care, nursing care, and inpatient rehabilitation, conveniently located on the grounds of our beautiful 110-acre Catonsville campus.

We employ a highly-trained and compassionate staff—so you can be assured that the care you receive is the best care around. Each resident benefits from a personalized care plan, one-on-one attention, and hours of engaging programming.

A supportive environment is key to fostering wellness. That’s why our continuing care health services neighborhood is designed to create a warm, home-like atmosphere. Meals are prepared by a professional chef and served at the on-site dining venues, where residents meet and socialize.

Independent living residents can make the transition to continuing care health services should the need arise. However, you don’t have to be a current resident of Charlestown to receive continuing care here.
